The writers voice is just like any regular person. What she writes isn't to complicated to understand, you don't need a dictionary to figure out what shes saying. Its just as if she was talking to you directly. I identify most with marji as the teenager. Every teenager has their phase of rebelling their parents and thinking their grown and can do whatever they want. I can understand why she didnt tell her mom why it took her so long to get home when she was almost sent by those women. I probably wouldnt of said anything to my mom either. Marji as a child didnt really have much of a effect on my reading as the older marji did. As a child she didnt really understand most of what was going on. As a teen everything changed.

Iranians enjoyed life by parties. They were banned but Marjis family still had parites. What made me laugh in this story was how her parents defended her and her friends when the teachers had all these wierd rules. Her father said to the theacher"if hair is as stimulating as you say then you need to shave your mustache" lol. The jokes and pictures add the comic relief. The scences are relavant to the story because they show how te people rebelled towards the revolution.

The kids looked hip by sneaking their clothes under their veils also they were allowed to wear it in their house. Marji wore clothes to Gandhi avenue. Which is where people sold illegal tapes and such. I don't know how I would of acted. I probably would of been the same becaus eI know my parents would of acted like that. Im not really rebellious because Ive seen what my parents do when my sisters did rebellious things.

I think persepolis is more powerful as a non fictional story because it tells a real story with real opinions. Many people didnt kno about the Islamic Revolution. Marjane helps explain it in a interesting way. Also many people especially americans consider someone with a veil or some kind of head wrap an terrorist. In the story she shows that they all arent. Ive never read a memoir before but im guessing if its fictional it would make peopl believe in fictional things.

Satrapi shows this by stating the other point of views of people. For example when she went to school and the teacher was telling them to wear veils. Her mom was mad and didnt want to wear them and the kids kept taking them off any ways. Persepolis teaches me alot about Iran. I didnt know that women had to go through all this to wear the veils. Also I didnt even know that it was called a veil lol. Also Persepolis taught me about the Islamic Revolution. It helps me understand that not all Iranians are for war and they all dont want to fight us for the money we dont have.

Marji in the story is like any regular girl, except shes probably the only child that likes to listen and watch the news. She is very funny and she likes to brag a lot about things. The thing I liked about Marji was she liked to speak her mind and tell everyone what was really going on, but at the same time was a respectful nice girl. All she wanted was to be able to call one of her family members a hero in the war. The little girls reaction pretty much made the story. I think if she wasnt a narrator it would of been alot different. The people she was around helped show different reactions for example she was really shocked and disturbed when she saw the girls bracelet with a destroyed hand with it, and her mom didnt have a reaction to it. Therefore it showed two different reactions to one situation.

Information and Technology

This theme is pretty much the main theme throughout the book. Every is using the feed as their technology and information reciever. Many people with the feed don't know how to write or communicate in different languages besides Violet. Shes the only one that doesnt use the feed as often as the others do.

I-Phone

I chose this picture because the i phone has many different things it could do. It can play music, you can search the web, you can buy/play games, download videos/ youtubes and so much more. Many people can even use this to watch t.v (you can also do this on regular cell phones). So if your a college student and dont want to spend money on cable jus get a i-phone or cell phone with internet connection. I chose this image because as soon as these phones came out it was like the top selling thing in America. Just seeing many people with them influenced me. People either have an I-phone or Ipod-touch. which both do the same thing except the i-phone makes calls and the Ipod doesnt. This pretty much says itself. People use youtube to get the news they missed. Others use it to "broadcast yourself" they use it to get famous and/or just to entertain themselves. its almost likke the feed just not planted in your head. Its the first people think of when you said u missed your favorite show and such they just say "go youtube it". Personally I love youtube. I use it all the time.
