They try to figure out who you are, and to make you conform to one of their types for easy marketing" 
The feed is almost like fashion ads to me. All fashion is targeted at teens or mothers/fathers who want to be young(or as old people say "hip"). Every celebrity in the industry must look good or have their own wierd style to be noticed, and thats what teens want..to be noticed. For example back in the day when MC hammer came out with the hammer time pants everyone else started to wear them. Like Quendy and Calista started wearing the "Riot" gear. Or When Nelly wore the bandage on his cheek many people started wearing those, the St.Lunatics came out with the airforce ones song thats when Nike really started getting business. There are so much more but i think Fashion magizines today are like the feed. I think if i had a feed i would get lots and lots of song ads. I am a music feen, me and my sisters are. We remix songs all the time and jus play music all day like right now im listening to Leona Lewis Forgivness. Or I would get comedy ads Everyone who knows me know that i just go on youtube and find random things like Lasarah or ghetto news reporter :). If I had a feed with the chat I would use it all day everyday! I text message all the time an if i had that chatting thing it would be wayy easier then texting. I think it would really effect the communication with people because everyone would get used to not talking so there would really be no point to talk if u can jus say it in your head. Also many people would not be doing good in school because teachers may not even know if ur chatting or not unless they had sum chat block but even then children will find a way to get around it.
"this is my project"
Violets project is to trick the feed into making her un-marketable. She doesnt want the feed to put her in some category where the feed would tempt her into buying things. Her idea is to persuade the feed she wants the most rediculous things but not buy them. This shows that Violet wants to find a way for people with the feed to learn how to think and do for themselves. I think shes starting to make Titus become an independent person even though he doesnt realize it. Titus's response shows that he doesnt really care because he kinds of blocks her out and doesnt really get the point to her project, but i think he begins to realize what shes doing after they go to the stores.

This says that people can't function without the feed, and they think higher of themselves since they have a feed. Its like when you think about life before internet or any sort of technology people say they couldnt live without it because what would you do if there was no youtube and such. In a different way people now a days are the same. Many people like in poorer countries don't have computers/internet so people tend to look down on the poor. The feed in the book is just technology.
